To be used exclusively to help with expenses related to the other programs described below.

Children of members in good standing of the RPCC will have an advantage in consideration.

Requirements:

  • Must be a resident of Clark County, Wisconsin.
  • Has been accepted to participate in one of the approved programs (listed below).
  • Submission of a 500-1,500 word essay explaining why they are a worthy recipient and should be considered to receive the grant.A worthy recipient ought to be able to defend a republican value, and probably should in their essay.

Senator Johnson’s Internships

Internship opportunities are available in all 4 offices:  Oshkosh, Milwaukee, Madison and Washington, DC.  Internships in the Washington, DC office allow students to experience the legislative process firsthand.  Washington office interns may assist with legislative research, attend committee hearings, conduct Capitol tours, and help with administrative duties.  Internship duties in any of the three offices can be tailored to a student’s career goals and policy interests. Internship opportunities are available year-round.

College students, graduate students, and recent graduates who are considering further education programs are encouraged to apply. College credit is available.

  • Summer internships: completed packets are due the second Friday in March.
  • Fall semester internships: completed packets are due the first Friday in August
  • Spring semester internships: completed packets are due the first Friday in December

The fee for attending the 2024 Senate Scholar Program is $250.

Wisconsin State Senate “Page for a Day”

Wisconsin State Senators may sponsor Wisconsin students to serve for one day as a page in the State Capitol.  Students must be in middle or high school and required to be 12 years of age or older.

The Page for a Day program will be offered throughout the session on Tuesdays and Thursdays and will not be available during the Senate Scholar program.

At LEAD WI, teens are equipped to become effective godly leaders who engage the culture from a Biblical perspective.

Through a leadership simulation high-school campers have the opportunity to experience the roles of community leadership first-hand in their state capitol. Mix that in with engaging Biblical worldview discussions, faith-building worship, compelling chapel, a hearty dose of recreational activities, and cultivating lifelong relationships throughout the week…and just like that you’ve got a pretty good idea of what LEAD WI looks like!

United States Senate Youth Program:

The 62nd annual United States Senate Youth Program Washington Week is being planned to be held in person in Washington, D.C. March 2–9, 2024. The national deadline for all states to submit their delegate selections is December 1, 2023. Two student leaders from each state, the District of Columbia and the Department of Defense Education Activity will spend a week in Washington experiencing their national government in action. Students must be actively serving in high-level elected or appointed leadership positions to qualify to apply.

All transportation, hotel and meal expenses will be provided by The Hearst Foundations. In addition, each delegate will also be awarded a $10,000 college scholarship for undergraduate studies, with encouragement to pursue coursework in history and political science.

The student must hold a leadership positions for the current 2023-2024 academic year in student government, civic or educational organizations during the entire 2023-2024 academic year.
